For the serious collector, originality is often key, however quite often horses have been tidied up over the years and ended up badly over painted, or have become unrideable and unsafe. If this is the case then restoration is probably the best option, it is also worth pointing out that if these fine old horses are not looked after they may not survive for future generations to enjoy.
Certainly, our rocking horses are hand carved individuals, with no two rocking horses being truly alike. We make our own tack and accessories, giving us great flexibility and ultimately giving you a greater choice with more available options and as a result a rocking horse finished just the way you want it.

Build time varies on factors like how much spare time you have available and how competent you are, you will not manage one in a weekend though! The process is both interesting and enjoyable, if you have never done this sort of thing before you will find making your own rocking horse to be a fascinating and rewarding project.
All our courses are held on a one-to-one basis, you will spend the entire day in our workshops with Rob Newbould, our experienced rocking horse maker and restorer who will help and advise you with any part of making or restoring rocking horses.
